So Elvis weekend in Collingwood. Somewhat overpriced and less than well organized but a funny freak show all around.

Is this fucking rain ever going to quit - way to ruin a summer.

Maybe the Toronto strike is over - well a pox on both your fucking houses. I'm sure dipshit city killer Miller was finally informed that the city is broke after the former treasurer became CAO and thought he had to do something about it. Not something like actually looking at more contracting out, just a typically incompetent response to totally unrealistic union demands. So you won all these benefits over the years - so did GM and Chrysler - that's why contracting out city services should be an option not just for cost but for quality.

What a nice game no no game and a great catch to preserve it.

Our own JP is such a big mouthed moron - why don't you piss off Halladay publicly? Beeston it's time to send him back to americaland where bigmouth jackasses belong.

Jeez will the friggin rain ever stop - although it's funny to see wet rich pro golfers.

City Killer Miller why aren't you having the garbage trucked away you dick.

Seems there are 16 real assholes on the Simcoe County Council that can't tell the difference between garbage and water. If the OPP do arrest and move the Indian protesters I hope they can explain that to the citizens of Caledonia.

Just watched an interview with a city striker who said he would run out of money if the strike lasted another month or so and he would need to find other work to see him through.

My question is this, with 10% unemployment already in Toronto, who the fuck would hire him?

Wow! Tammie Dolny is a sixteen year old striker hired by the Star to write about her views and experiences. I read the comments on her article today and while she was deservedly taken to task by a number of people there were others who were plain vicious like the political nutcase bloggers who proliferate this internet thingy.

On the strike, I find it ironic that the people busting their humps to provide a modicum of service to the public are the ones who had their wages frozen by City Killer Miller and his clown council.

Here in sweet smelling Etobicoke, I wonder how much the city is actually saving in salaries, etc that can be used to help with the big red hole the city's finances are in.

McGuinty has a lot to answer for by changing the council terms from 3 to 4 years. Because unfortunately the voters tend to have a short attention span and memory and will likely reelect most the the assholes on council.

I think tomorrow I will phone a see how many councilors are actually working and if the rest are still collecting their pay.

Old Tom almost did it. I told him on the 18th "use the wedge, not the putter" but he didn't listen. Still great for old guys all over.

Doc went the complete game - best in the business - wish we had a team to go with him.

Nice afternoon at Young Centre at the Distillery. A tribute to Lightfoot. Heard a couple of people I hadn't heard before - Lori Cullen and Gregory Hoskins - they were excellent especially Hoskins' 'Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald'. I'll certainly go see them if the oppourtunity presents. Kenneth Welsh even did a couple.

Since the company that trucks garbage to the States and London is private why aren't they picking up these disgusting piles of garbage in the city parks?

Something to think about - many of the city employees still working are the poor non-union stiffs who had their wages frozen. Wonder what their overtime is costing?

Where are the councilors? Are any of them working or have they just buggered off somewhere?

By the way, when the city was blowing up last year and the Mayor was away at a week long birthday party, where was the deputy-mayor? Away at a dwarf convention?

Rumour the Jays are going to move the 'Doc'. If they do, they can kiss my season tickets goodbye. Btw they should move that fbomb under performing asshole Rios and take Riccardi along with him - he's sure no Billy Beane.

Star has hired a 16 year old striker to write for them during the strike - good move - she gives an interesting perspective.

So BJ has hit the road - hope the door didn't hit his ass on the way out. Shades of Bill Caudill. Different from Dwayne Ward though.

Pretty struggling club right now. JP ain't no Billy Beane that's for sure.

Can't believe Simcoe County wants to dump garbage on some of the best water in the world. Heard John Gerritson saying his scientists found no problem. His scientists? - what's that, some guy who took zoology in '37. If I understand correctly, Peterson's government of the day overrode the environment assessment and said go to it boys. And as for today - when does a bureaucrat ever admit a mistake?

So Toronto strikers are forcing a 15 min wait per car for the city taxpayers who wish to dispose of their trash which means hours of waiting.

Where is gutless city killer Miller and his gang? Have they never heard of injunctions or do they think this will lead to 95% diversion rate?

Useless idiots leading the unions and even more useless idiots leading our city. Fuck em all with something rough and painful.

Friday, July 10, 2009

I notice in today's paper an article on the Toronto strike wherein folks in various neighbourhoods have cut grass and cleaned up parks in order to use them. Mark Ferguson, the union president, has suggested these people (who own the parks, not the city and not the union) are scabs. Well Marky Mark, if these people are scabs, you and your pals are scum.

Team won another one tonight 17-5. Interesting how there is always drama with teen girls.

Strike in Toronto seems to be getting ugly in places.

With all this fuss about the Michael Jackson funeral you'd think Sister Theresa and Mahatma Ghandi had died. Interesting how all those people who a few months or weeks ago couldn't say his name without a sneer now act like he's their personal friend and hero.

Just a beautiful sunny Sunday to enjoy the outdoors. Hope everyone has a good one except the jerks, dickheads, hypocritical horses asses etc.

Coming back to Toronto from Rama today after last night's Gretchen Wilson show I was struck by the amount of northbound traffic. At 1:00 pm it was pretty much a parking lot all the way to Orillia. Canadians sure will put up with a lot to enjoy their summer.

Dear Christopher Hume

You write today of the hypocrisy of those asking the Toronto City Councillors to rescind their 2.42% cost of living increase. You miss the point that by refusing to do so adamantly and in a very public way, council loses any moral authority and shows a complete lack of integrity and leadership in dealing with the current strike and the imposition of a freeze on the non-unionized city workers.

Another questionable point is that the councillors are overworked - I have serious doubts about that.

Public office should be a calling not a job (as Kyle Rae believes) and everyone who runs for office knows what the income will be so there should not be any whining after elections about being underpaid.

You mention by name two right wing councillors but you could easily have mentioned a useless clown like Giorgio Mammoliti or a buffoon like Howard Moscoe who tried to sneak through a raise like some American porkbarrel congressman.

You are quite correct when you say governance can be improved and really must be improved but it won't happen until term limits are imposed.

By the way, the height of hypocrisy was the Mayor sending out Pennichetti to public meetings on the proposed land transfer and license plate taxes because the city was broke while at the same time investigating two councillors for not spending enough.

What a great day at the ball park. Blue Jays win a well played game and the weather is beautiful. Too bad all games can't be day games. Go Jays go!

On the stupid city front I see the geniuses at City Hall realized that the farmers' markets could actually go on without the need for 2000 city so called workers to organize and monitor them. Go farmers go. Those, of course, that are real farmers.
