I see the word progressive all over the bloggy thing but some of the writers sure don't seem progressive in that they are mean spirited and just plain nasty.

Liberal Election?

All this yak yak yak about an upcoming election, and from the Liberals on whether they should force an election or not. Dion being whipsawed by the lib bloggers and the media and apparently his own caucus.

Taking a step back - why should they bring down the government. It seems the last few years Liberals have gone from the idealism of power to simply power for power's sake. Liberals seem to believe they have a god-given right to form the national government. But surprisingly the Tories have provided competent government, not the barbarous neo-con disaster Liberals expected and probably hoped for.

It is time for the Liberals to present ideas and programs that will allow the electorate to dream and hope. Trudeau was able to excite the nation with a 'Just Society' until his inept managerial skills led to just a society but those were heady days. Pearson with his minorities gave us marvelous legislation and government.

It all seemed to disappear with Chretien who had no vision but great electoral success. Even today his faithful syncophants praise his time in office while still remaining devoid of any ideas or ideals other than winning against a divided opposition.

So come on Liberals - give us a reason to be proud, hopeful for the future, and eager to pitch in. This will not come by pandering to all sorts of different groups but a message for everyone.

If you can't do this, you deserve to sit on the sidelines and abdicate your responsibilies to the Tories or NDP or Rhinos.

Funny on the day City Killer Miller is introducing improved transit service, there are three train breakdowns during morning rush hour.

Could Stephane Dion bring the troops home from Afghanistan in time to move the snow in Toronto?

Do any of the Canadian msm stand in solidarity with the Danish press re the Mohammed cartoon or are they a bunch of politically correct shit-filled assholes?

Why can't our government or the yankees or brits address the elephant in the room re Afghanistan, and that is opium production?

I think most Muslims here are as moderate and sane as anyone in the country, but their nutjobs are even wackier than our homegrown far left and right bottom feeders.

Watching the Apprentice interplay between Morgan and Omorosa was like the normal dialogue between semi-moderate bloggers. Which makes me wonder how many bloggers would have the guts to say face to face the names they call each other online.

A lot of talk now about Stevie Cameron in regard to the Mulroney inquiry. I don't know if she knows what she is talking about or has a Mulroney fixation but some years ago I was not able to finish her book 'Blue Trust'. It was one of the most disjointed poorly written or edited books I've ever seen.
Apparently it has been very popular but I can't imaginge why other than a school example of how not to write.

Snookered?

Have we been snookered again? City Killer Miller and the gang have reduced the planned permit fee increases after huge complaining by residents. The treasurer Pencilitis has cooked the books a bit and surprisingly so much wasn't needed after all.

Seems to be a regular occurrence that this city hall horde comes up with a need for some huge increase and after an uproar reduce it or change it slightly and all of a sudden we suckers accept it. Look at the land tax grab or the water rate increases.

I wonder if someone at City Hall is really bright enough to scheme like that - doesn't look like it would be any councillors - so who's the Machiavelli?

By god I'd hate to be a soldier in Afghanistan if the freaking Liberals are going to be planning operations. What a bunch of cretins.

Garbage

City Killer Miller and his budget buckos continue to amaze. The assinine permit fee increases that he says he didn't know about were quickly followed by the garbage fees which he also didn't know about.

Why should we be paying a fee for garbage pickup - what are our taxes for? And why are families being penalized. As for garbage disposal, why don't these myoptic morons have a look at incineration like everyone in Europe does?

City Budget

Killer Miller has presented a City of Toronto balanced budget with a 3.75% increase which is apparently his conception of the inflation rate. Thanks to the 1 or 2% of the population who will be paying his ridiculous land transfer tax and everyone with a car who will be tossing their money into this bugetary hellhole.

Absolutely no attempt to curb the outrageous spending or increase the efficiency of city featherbeding staff.

Soon the province is going to forced to place the city clown circus under supervision. The sooner the better!
