The Trudeau boys are beginning to sound off about national affairs. Many columnists seem to think this is the second coming and their words are pearls of wisdom. Lets remember that when you get right down to it their old man was not much of a successful leader - his claim to fame was only electoral success which seems to be the Canadian Holy Grail.
AFN
Phil Fontaine of the AFN has sent out a news release stating that since the Government has proposed a motion to recognize Quebecois as a nation then the first nations should receive recognition as well for their contributions.
I would like to know what their contributions have been.

Olympic athletes
While it seems like a good idea to support Olympic athletes with some tax money - the constant whining that it is not enough makes me wonder why those that are successful and make a boatload of money because of it don't offer to return all that original tax money.
Reverse-onus
The media is reporting that experts are saying that the new reverse-onus bail provisions being proposed by the government are very bad ideas. Who are these experts and what the hell are they expert in - certainly not gun crimes or criminals.
Screw the stupid media for giving their blathering nonsense any space.

WTF?
Interesting week. Toronto re-elected a whole bunch of morons from mayor to Moscoe. Canada is taking flak about Kyoto targets - wake up Europeans especially French fucknuts - buying and selling these climate credits will be the biggest global rip off ever conceived. Garth made a lack of headlines. Liberal leadership is all about Dean this week. But the most important thing in current events and world affairs is apparently the TomKatwedding. People we get what we deserve - where and when did we go wrong?

Election
Tomorrow are the municipal elections. In Toronto it is a real pity. We have a blonde bozo as incumbent and it looks as though it will stay that way. He has no vision for the city and no ability to forward the city's agenda(if he knew what it was) at the senior goverment levels. He came into office with a broom - well apparently it is now stuck up his ass because city hall is just as sketchy as it ever was except different players.
Most embarrasing is the moron Moscoe who has managed to screw up TTC service royally as well as trying to sneak through raise like a thief in the night. Unfortunately he'll probably be back as well - what a system.
Oh and the official city garden gnome Joe Pantalone will likely be back as well.

All the blather about the income trust changes certainly shows a deep ignorance on the part of a lot of commentators and especially bloggers.
First, anyone complaining about losing fairly hefty amounts of money like 100 grand had to have 800 or 900 thousand invested in trusts so boo hoo hoo. If you can't live on the balance call Conrad Black for advice.
Second if you are so upset, fire your broker or adviser.
Third, my experience with the ones I hold is that the capital gains I've experienced to date more than makes up for the drop in share value and I expect this is the case generally.
Fourth, the whole purpose of income trusts is to provide good distributions not capital gains.
Fifth, anyone selling for less than they paid for the stock simply panicked and do not deserve any sympathy.
